James is the Chief Operating Officer of Tempo Structured Products, looking after risk, governance and product management. James is an experienced, knowledgeable expert, in key areas, including bank credit risk, issuance, derivatives and indexation. James started working in HSBC Asset Management, where he was part of the team with Chris Taylor, now Tempo’s Chief Executive, in pioneering retail structured products in the UK.  James moved to American Express Private Bank as Global Head of Product and Business Development in 2003 and then Standard Chartered, Hong Kong. He returned to the UK and formed Blue Sky Asset Management in 2007 with Chris and Mark Dickson, who is also involved with Tempo (providing consultancy input in respect of governance and operations).

More recently, James has been involved in a consulting business, Tricio, with senior colleagues from American Express Bank, which provides economic and investment research services.

James graduated from the University of Birmingham with BEng and PhD in Electronic and Electrical engineering. He has been a CFA charter holder since 1998 and has been actively involved in CFA UK as a volunteer. He also holds the Certificate in ESG Investing from the CFA Institute.
